Quicken does it again! July 13, 2000 Lori Hollands (Modesto, CA United States) 34 out of 46 found this review helpful
I started out with Quickbooks Pro and I am constantly amazed at Intuit, I just keep moving up with their software, doing things that with any other program I never would have understood. This program is very user friendly and easy to work with. I am buying another for one of my employees who worked with it at our office and couldn't believe how simple it was. Neither one of us had any accounting experience but because Quickbooks is designed in easy to understand profiles everyone can us it.As I said Quicken has done it again.
Beats Money 2001 Deluxe, hands down November 14, 2000 Ethan Pooley (Washinton, USA) 40 out of 42 found this review helpful
I switched to Quicken 2001 Home and Business after wrestling with MS Money 2001 Deluxe for a week (the first MS software I've really disliked, excluding Win95/98). Quicken is working great for me. I find the navigation much more intuitive than Money. I do think that Money had a better budget planner, but I wouldn't give up the ease of Quicken just for that.
Disappointed October 16, 2000 John Jackson (CT USA) 68 out of 70 found this review helpful
I have been using Quicken products for around 5 years I am get more and more disappointed with the later versions. This product seems to have a lot of bugs:1, I could not successfully import some business records from another version of quicken 2, If another window partially covers quicken then you cannot get to quicken by clicking on it (you have to minimise the other window) - STRANGE 3, It has a lot of annoying adverts which I find offensive considering the fact that I paid $ for this product. 4, There is horrendous support for this product. The booklet tells you that you will be billed $ per minute for support calls) I have spent the last 4 hours trying to get my records updated. If you are a new user then things may work out fine (the user interface is generally good). If you are using home, business and a lot of investing then this product still leaves a lot to be desired. I was trying to work out how to set up a client but that does not seem to be mentioned.
Unpleasantness December 30, 2000 darkcoffee (USA) 46 out of 48 found this review helpful
1. The manual is a shill for spending more money on web services you don't need. It is among the most vague things I've ever tried to use.2. There are obvious glitches in the file management tools. This frightens me -- this is my livelihood, after all, and not some game. The IRS will not let me blame Quicken if I make a major mistake. 3. Very disappointing, grinding experience on the learning curve. Extremely un-inutive, Intuit.
Nice program, but... June 17, 2001 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful program which performs MOST everything I require...BUT, there are (as is usual) occasional bugs or problems (like all software) and Customer Service at Intuit is probably one of the least responsive I have ever seen. Usually this isn't a problem (as I said, it's a very good program), but even a small bug in your accounting program can have severe consequences, and without a decent Customer Service Dept. you can end up with a financial disaster unless you pay close attention.
